My name is Kayley

I started this blog quite sometime ago. All of the pictures lined up on the left were taken before I lost my leg.

On October 3rd, 2020, I was in a tragic boating accident. In order to keep me alive, the doctors had to cut off my leg. Since then, I have been learning how to navigate life as an amputee.

Prior to my accident, I lived a normal, independent, and happy life as a 4th grade teacher in Florida. Activities that I once loved- walking, running, hiking, traveling, and biking- will have to be re-learned. Easy activities I could once do alone now require assistance or A LOT of extra effort (tidying up, making a bed, taking a shower, etc..)
